In the Super Over, left-arm quick Arshdeep Singh struck twice to limit Sri Lanka to a mere two runs. India captain Suryakumar Yadav then sealed the result in style, knocking off the target with a boundary off the very first ball.
Earlier, after being asked to bat, India piled up 202 for five. Star player Abhishek Sharma continued his fine form with a brisk 31-ball 61 studded with eight fours and two sixes. Tilak Varma (49 off 34), Sanju Samson (39 off 23), and Axar Patel (21 off 15) chipped in with valuable cameos.
Chasing 203, Sri Lanka were powered by Nissanka’s classy 107 off 58 deliveries, while Kusal Perera added a fluent 58 from 32 balls. Despite their efforts, Sri Lanka could only match India’s 202, pushing the contest into a dramatic Super Over that went India’s way.
