Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on Saturday afternoon released an official statement, clarifying the signing of Dewald Brevis, who joined the franchise midway during IPL 2025 as an injury replacement. He was signed for a fee of Rs 2.20 crore. The statement comes days after Ravichandran Ashwin's revelation on how the franchise roped in the 22-year-old.

As reported by Hindustan Times, Ashwin while speaking on his YouTube channel had noted that Brevis was involved in salary discussions with CSK. It mentioned that the player wanted more money than what the franchise had offered before the two parties reached a mutual agreement.
