India's T20 specialist Rinku Singh has drawn flak after reports emerged of his appointment as a Basic Education Officer (BSA) in Uttar Pradesh. Rinku, who is known for hitting towering sixes, drew criticism online with many users questioning his education credentials and claiming that he failed Class 9.

As per multiple reports, the notification regarding Rinku's appointment was issued by the Director of Basic Education in Uttar Pradesh. The reports mentioned that his selection for the position is under process based on International Medal Winner Direct Recruitment Rules 2022. This rule allows athlete, who have brought glory to the nation in the international arena, be directly appointed to certain gazetted posts.

Although Rinku is yet to win an ICC Trophy but was part of the gold medal winning team at the Asian Games. However, Rinku's education credentials has added fuel to the position, with many questioning his capability to hold such a responsible position.
