Ambati Rayudu had called for peace in a social media post following the rising tensions between India and Pakistan. However, the former India cricketer's post did not sit well with social media users, especially after he issued a warning about the serious consequences of further escalating the conflict shortly after Pakistan launched strikes on Indian cities along the northern and western borders for the second consecutive time.

“An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.” Let’s remember — this isn’t a call for weakness, but a reminder of wisdom. Justice must stand firm, but never lose sight of humanity. We can love our nation fiercely and still hold compassion in our hearts. Patriotism and peace can walk hand in hand,” wrote Rayudu on his first social media post following the India and Pakistan conflict.

In his next post, he wrote his prayers are with every person suffering from the attacks in Punjab, Jammu & Kashmir and other areas as well which were affected by the conflict. "Prayers for peace and safety in Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab and other parts of India along the border. Hoping for strength, security and swift resolution for everyone affected. Jai Hind."

Despite ongoing criticism, Rayudu emphasized that his message should not be viewed as a "call for weakness," but rather as a reminder to uphold compassion.
