See a rare "double sunrise" effect on March 29 as a partial solar eclipse brings its shadow over the northeastern United States, with New England providing the best viewing experience.

Rare Eclipse to Create ‘Double Sunrise’ Over Northeast on 29 March

Early risers in the northeastern United States will see an unusual sight on March 29.  As the sun rises, a partial solar eclipse will have already begun. In some regions, the moon's shadow will create an uncommon "double sunrise" effect.

The Best Viewing Locations in the United States.
The eclipse will be visible from 13 states, and New England offers the best observation. In Maine at sunrise, the sun will be occulted by as much as 86%. New Hampshire will see 57% obscuration, while Massachusetts will have 55% occultation. Boston will experience a 43% eclipse.
South of that, the eclipse will be less pronounced.

New York City will experience 21% coverage, with Philadelphia and Rochester seeing 11% and 8%, respectively. Washington, D.C. will see only 1.2% obscuration. The best locations to view the eclipse are coastal locations with a clear eastern horizon.
