Space exploration enthusiasts will have to wait a bit longer, as NASA has postponed the Artemis 2 moon mission to April 2026. Artemis 3, targeting a lunar landing, is now set for mid-2027. The delays are due to technical adjustments and safety priorities.

Orion Heat Shield and Safety Adjustments

NASA aims to ensure the Orion spacecraft is fully prepared. The capsule will carry astronauts on its first crewed mission. Its heat shield, tested during Artemis 1, revealed unexpected wear patterns. Engineers found gases trapped within the shield caused uneven shedding.
