Asteroid 2025 QV9 is roughly 100 feet wide. It travels at 10,319 miles per hour. Its closest approach will be 1,250,000 miles. Although that seems far, space experts say it is close. The asteroid is part of the Aten group. These asteroids regularly cross Earth’s orbit.

Experts say 2025 QV9 poses no danger today. NASA calls a rock hazardous if it is closer than 7.4 million kilometres. It must also be wider than 85 metres. 2025 QV9 does not meet those conditions. Scientists continue monitoring because small orbit changes matter.
