The Vishnu Mandir in Janjgir-Champa, Chhattisgarh, is a remarkable 12th-century temple built by the Hayhay Vansh (Haihayavanshi dynasty). Known for its intricate carvings, rare architecture, and unfinished structure, this historic shrine is popularly Known as Nakata Mandir, meaning "the incomplete temple." Even though it has never been finished, Vishnu Mandir is a representation of Chhattisgarh's rich architectural and cultural legacy that draws tourists, devotees, and historians alike.

Commissioned during the rule of the Haihaya dynasty, the Vishnu Mandir was envisioned as a grand two-part temple complex dedicated to Lord Vishnu. But because of the unfinished construction, the temple is still only partially completed today. Its unique, unfinished appearance has made it one of Janjgir-Champa’s most fascinating historical landmarks. Locals affectionately call it Nakata Mandir due to its incomplete structure.
