The Story of Varaha Avatar

To rescue the earth, Lord Vishnu incarnated as Varaha, a mighty boar with immense strength. A fierce battle took place between Lord Varaha and Hiranyaksha, after which the demon was slain. Lord Varaha then lifted the earth on His tusks and placed it back in its rightful position in the universe.
This act of divine protection is remembered as the Varaha Avatara or Varahavatara, one of the Dashavatara (ten incarnations) of Lord Vishnu.
