Swami Chidanand Saraswati, the spiritual head of Parmarth Niketan Ashram in Rishikesh, along with Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati, took a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on the auspicious occasion of Magha Purnima during the ongoing Maha Kumbh 2025. The sacred event witnessed a massive influx of devotees who gathered to participate in the spiritual ritual.
Speaking about the significance of this grand gathering, Swami Chidanand Saraswati highlighted the unprecedented scale of the event. "Till now, 48 crore people have taken 'snan' at the Triveni Sangam, which is an amazing feat. By Mahashivratri, this number is expected to surpass 60 crore, which will astonish the world," he remarked.
Sadhvi Bhagawati Saraswati expressed her profound experience of taking a dip in the holy waters. "It was an amazing experience to take a holy dip on the occasion of Magha Purnima. The energy and devotion present here make this an unforgettable spiritual journey," she shared.
According to the Uttar Pradesh Information Department, over two crore devotees participated in the sacred bath on Magha Purnima alone. Since the commencement of Maha Kumbh on January 13, more than 48 crore pilgrims have taken the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended his heartfelt wishes to devotees and saints on this auspicious day. In a post on X, he wrote, "Hearty congratulations to all devotees and residents of the state on the holy bathing festival of Magha Purnima! My greetings to the revered saints, religious leaders, Kalpvasis, and pilgrims who have come for a holy bath in the sacred Triveni at Maha Kumbh 2025, Prayagraj. May Lord Shri Hari bless everyone with happiness, prosperity, and good fortune. May Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna, and Maa Saraswati fulfill everyone's wishes."
The grand event also attracted several foreign devotees, who were deeply moved by their spiritual experiences at Maha Kumbh. A pilgrim from Australia described his visit as "an experience for a lifetime," emphasizing the indescribable joy and gratitude he felt. Another foreigner expressed, "It was an incredible opportunity to take a holy dip in the River Ganga and experience inner peace. The sheer number of people performing this sacred ritual in the holy waters of Maa Ganga, Maa Yamuna, and Maa Saraswati is simply incredible."
Maha Kumbh 2025, which began on Paush Purnima (January 13, 2025), is recognized as the world's largest spiritual and cultural gathering. Devotees from across the globe have arrived in Prayagraj to participate in this grand event, which will continue until Mahashivratri on February 26, 2025. The event not only highlights the deep-rooted spiritual traditions of India but also showcases its cultural unity and devotion on an unparalleled scale.
