Russia Ukraine News LIVE Updates | The death of civilians in Ukrainian town of Bucha was condemned by India and "we demand an impartial probe" into the killings, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, during his virtual summit with US President Joe Biden. "I spoke to Presidents of both Ukraine and Russia and appealed for peace. I not only appealed for peace, but also asked President (Vladimir) Putin to directly speak to the President of Ukraine. We are in favour of a peaceful solution through dialogue," Modi added.

Russia Ukraine News Highlights | At the virtual summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden said the US and India are going to "continue our close consultation" on how to manage the "destabilising effects of the Russian war in Ukraine".

The summit between Modi and Biden comes at a time when both the nations have appeared to be not on the same page in relation to Russia. While New Delhi has reiterated that it will be guided by its "national interest", Washington had termed its approach as "shaky".

In other major update, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has accused Russia of trying to evade responsibility for war crimes.

“When people lack the courage to admit their mistakes, apologize, adapt to reality and learn, they turn into monsters. And when the world ignores it, the monsters decide that it is the world that has to adapt to them. Ukraine will stop all this,” Zelenskyy said.
