Republican Vice Presidential nominee JD Vance, already criticised for his 'childless cat ladies' remark, is facing renewed backlash following the resurfacing of a 2021 video. In the video, Vance controversially proposed that parents should have greater voting rights than those without children.

Vance made this suggestion during a speech to the 'Intercollegiate Studies Institute,' arguing that people without children have no "investment" in the future of America. He also remarked that those without children "maybe shouldn't get nearly the same voice."

Vance, the running mate of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, has faced widespread public condemnation for his 'childless cat ladies' remark. In his 2021 Fox News interview, he targeted Kamala Harris, now the Democratic Presidential nominee, along with other Democratic leaders, claiming that those without offspring, especially "childless cat ladies," had no "direct stake" in the country.

Vance told Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson that the United States was being run by “a bunch of childless cat ladies who are miserable at their own lives and the choices that they’ve made and so they want to make the rest of the country miserable, too.”
