It is still too early to predict when the eurozone crisis will end, Eurogroup President Jean-Claude Juncker said on Wednesday.

"We have to take a number of relevant decisions. These decisions are under way. It is still too early to say in a definite way when this crisis will have come to an end," Juncker said at a press conference after an event in Zurich on Wednesday night. Juncker declined to give any details on the "comprehensive package" that nations belonging to the euro currency area were working on to solve the bloc's debt crisis ahead of a meeting of eurozone finance ministers on Monday. "I agree with (German Finance Minister Wolfgang) Schaeuble's opinion that we need a more comprehensive approach," Juncker told Reuters late on Wednesday night. In December, IMF Managing Director Dominique Strauss-Kahn said he was concerned that EU leaders' piecemeal approach to Europe's debt crisis was encouraging markets to pick off weak countries one by one. Germany's Schaeuble revealed the package as the European Union's executive called for greater emergency lending power to underpin the euro zone, and Portugal, widely seen as the next candidate for a bailout, successfully sold its first debt of the year. Juncker welcomed Wednesday's successful Portuguese bond auction as "good news" and said the country's government had launched a "very comprehensive" package. Juncker also said the euro was still a stable currency and that it's 15 percent slump versus the Swiss franc was not a "catastrophe" for the currency. "The euro will be around for longer than me," he said during a debate with Swiss politician Christoph Blocher. Switzerland's central bank vice-chairman Thomas Jordan said at an event of the liberal Free Democrats (FDP) on Wednesday night that an end to the European debt crisis was key for Switzerland's economy as the strong Swiss franc was taking its toll on Swiss exporters hard.
