D Gukesh made history by becoming the youngest World Chess Champion at 18, defeating defending champion Ding Liren in the final Game 14 of the World Chess Championships. The match was tied at 6.5 points each after 13 intense games. Ding, playing with white, opened with a reverse Grunfeld, while Gukesh responded aggressively, creating an asymmetrical pawn structure. Despite Ding's attempts to set traps, Gukesh maintained his composure. The game progressed into a tense endgame, where Gukesh's persistence and time management outlasted Ding, who blundered under pressure, allowing Gukesh to secure the historic win and claim the title.
