Cotton prices have shot up in spot as well as in futures markets because of cash shortage due to the demonetization of high value notes. Arrivals at the spot market has also fell sharply. The daily market arrivals around this time of the year should be 1.5 – 2 lakh bales (170 kg) across the country, that has fallen to 30,000 to 40,000 bales only.By: Skymetweather.com
