A man who was waiting tables at a wedding in Ghaziabad was allegedly beaten to death after the dirty plates that he was carrying touched some guests. The 26-year-old was identified as Pankaj Kumar. He was a resident of DLF Shankar Vihar. Uttar Pradesh police has arrested three people in connection with the case.
Kumar was working as a waiter at a wedding function in CGS Vatika Guest House in Ghaziabad on November 17, News18 reported. He was beaten to death over “jhoothi (dirty)” plates and his dead body was recovered from the bushes near Garhi Kattaiya village the next day.
According to the police, the waiter was taking a few dishes to get them washed when they accidentally brushed against some guests. The three accused have been identified as Manoj Gupta, Amit Kumar and one other guy. They got angry at Kumar and a heated argument broke out, as per a report in News18.
“Pankaj was tossed on the ground and suffered severe head injuries. Fearing that the waiter was dead, the guests dumped his body into the bushes,” police said.
When Pankaj did not return home the next day, his mother went to the police to file a complaint. During the investigation, the police questioned those present at the guest house and enquired about his last known location.
