Industrialist Vijay Mallya was recently seen posing with his newly-wedded son Sidhartha Mallya and the bride Jasmine at the couple's wedding in London last weekend. The liquor baron has been living in the UK after fleeing from India when he was accused in the over 900-crore alleged loan fraud case, being probed by the ED and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
In a set of photos shared by Harsh Goenka, chairperson of the RPG Group, on X, the senior Mallya is seen in a dapper tuxedo and shades.
The 68-year-old former Kingfisher Airlines boss is wanted in India on charges of fraud and money laundering amounting to an alleged Rs 900 crore in unpaid bank loans, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had earlier stated.
Vijay Mallya was joined by another fugitive Indian businessman and former IPL chief Lalit Modi who has been on the run after being charged with tax evasion and money laundering of more than Rs 700 crore, among other cases.
Lalit Modi was suspended from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) post IPL 2010 and was suspended after being accused of defrauding the cricketing body of Rs 753 crore.
Lavish wedding in London
Vijay Mallya's son Sidhartha Mallya and Jasmine had a Christian wedding followed by a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony over the weekend. The couple took to social media to share pictures of the event.
The couple had announced their wedding last week in a post on social media.
