Thieves abandon stolen Delhi SUV in Rajasthan, leave notes: 'Sorry', 'call the police' & 'I love my India'

In an unusual turn of events, a stolen Scorpio found abandoned on the Jaipur-Bikaner Highway has left the police baffled and sparked curiosity across two states. What set this case apart were the handwritten notes left on the car, one of which offered an apology for the robbery.

The vehicle, identified as a Scorpio with its number plate missing, was discovered in Bikaner’s Napasar town, NDTV reported. According to the police, the car's rear glass bore two notes: one stating, “This car has been stolen from Delhi’s Palam. Sorry,” along with the vehicle's number “DL 9 CA Z2937.” Another note simply declared, “I love my India" written in a heart.

A third message, stuck on the front windshield, pleaded with anyone who saw the car to alert authorities. “This car has been stolen from Delhi. Please call the police and inform them. Urgent,” it read.

It was a resident, who noticed the suspiciously parked vehicle near a roadside hotel, who reported the matter to the authorities on Sunday. With no identifying number plate, the police relied on the note’s mention of the car number to track down the original owner, Vinay Kumar, a resident of Delhi's Palam Colony. Kumar had filed an FIR on October 10, reporting the vehicle stolen, NDTV reported.
