Govt's 'Perform, Achieve and Trade' Scheme

The Central Government recently issued a notification stipulating the maximum amount of energy that can be consumed by 144 manufacturing units operating in 10 different sectors. This effort of regulating energy consumption marks the initiation of the ‘PAT Scheme’ in India. It is a part of the National Mission for Enhanced Energy Efficiency which has launched several initiatives towards containing the impact of climate change.
