Avneesh Agarwal, President, Qualcomm India & South Asia: The breadth and scale of the mobile industry is unprecedented, there are over 5 million wireless subscribers worldwide with more than a billion 3G mobile broadband connections and in 2015, and we expect more than 3 billion 3G mobile broadband connections. In India, smart phones are outpacing the sale of laptops since 2009. It is quite clear that mobile broadband and mobile phones will actually define the computing and internet experience for majority of Indians. Akhil Gupa, Deputy Group CEO & MD of Bharti Enterprises and Director of Bharti Airtel Limited: To me in a simple manner the Next Generation Wireless is a way and a mean to provide excess to internet to the common man, wherever he wants at affordable prices and at speed which gives him good experience. Kapil Sibal, Honourable Minister of Communications and IT, GOI: My vision is that the maximum data will flow through fibre optic network. Maximum data and maximum speed, maximum width will happen through the fibre optics. If I can connect every Gram Panchayat with fibre optics in the next two years, which is our commitment then what happens in the process is all your spectrum gets released, there is much less pressure on spectrum.
