Pune’s 85-year-old “Warrior Aaji Maa” has baffled the internet with her martial art skills, drawing appreciation and recognition from Bollywood actors such as Sonu Sood, Riteish Deshmukh, and Randeep Hooda.
Impressed with her talents, Sonu Sood -- who has been in the news frequently over the past months for helping out stranded migrant labourers – has decided to open a martial arts training school with her.
With the hopes to ensure that her skills do not go in vain, the actor said he wants to make her teach self-defense techniques to women in that school.
The skilled old woman is from Pune and she has been displaying her martial art skills on the streets to make enough money to sustain herself during the COVID-19 crisis. A video of her rotating two sticks in swift, elegant movements was made by Pune resident Aishwarya Kale, which later went viral on Twitter.
According to Aishwarya Seema Kale, 85-year-old Shanta Balu Pawar or “Warrior Aaji” is a resident of Hadapsar in Pune.
