In the aftermath of Operation Sindoor in which nine locations hosting terror infrastructure in Pakistan were struck by the Indian military early on Wednesday, eyewitnesses from Pakistan's Muridke have come forward to recount seeing drones attacking a mosque. The region is often described as the country's 'terror nursery' and reportedly houses the headquarters of the Lashkar-e-Taiba.

In a video shared by news agency ANI, a Pakistani national said he saw four drones launch the strike. "It was around 12.45 am, most of us were alseep, one drone arrived flying not too high above and was followed by three more drones. They attacked the mosque here and destroyed the building and its offices," the witness said, adding that a security guard was killed in the strike.

Operation Sindoor was India's response to the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who earlier promised to avenge the terror attack, is said to have monitored the operation through the night. According to reports, the Prime Minister himself named the military strikes "Operation Sindoor" to honor the women whose husbands were killed in Pahalgam.

The strikes come after days of escalated tensions and downgraded diplomatic relations between India and Pakistan.

Meanwhile, women from the families who lost their husbands and sons to the Pahalgam terror attack called India's military action a "befitting reply".
