Zerodha co-founder and CEO Nithin Kamath on Sunday took to X to share a health update after having suffered a stroke last year. The tech billionaire said that although he had recovered significantly and his body is "almost" back to its former condition, his mind was still healing.
"So, yeah, fourteen months after the stroke, my body is almost back to normal, and my mind is at about 85 percent," Kamath wrote on X. "My writing hasn’t improved at all. Maybe because I don’t practice enough. My speech is, well… about 85 percent."
Kamath’s post drew admiration from several users.
On February 26, 2024, Kamath took to Instagram to announce his stroke.
"Around 6 weeks ago, I had a mild stroke out of the blue. Dad passing away, poor sleep, exhaustion, dehydration, and overworking out — any of these could be possible reasons," he wrote. Speaking about his recovery, Kamath said he went from having "a big droop in the face and not being able to read or write to having a slight droop but being able to read and write more", before adding that he expected full recovery in six months.

"I wondered why a person who’s fit and takes care of himself could be affected. The doctor said you need to know when you need to shift the gears down a bit," the Zerodha boss said. "Slightly broken, but still getting my treadmill count."
Kamath made his first public appearance after the stroke in April, 2024. In a post on X, the 44-year-old entrepreneur shared a picture of him at the Zero1 fest where he spoke about health and wealth. "Slowly getting back to normal. At the Zero1 fest, talking about health and wealth with @nasdaily, JC @FITTRwithsquats, and @twitellectual," he wrote.
