A New York City man has drawn significant attention on social media after revealing his unusual former hobby as an executioner in Saudi Arabia on a dating app. The man, who has since relocated to the US, noted that his past work in the role may be unsettling to some, but insisted it is now more of a "hobby" than a profession, as he no longer resides in Saudi Arabia.

A screenshot of the man's dating profile was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by a user named Mindy with the caption, “Friend saw this guy on the app. Lol.” The post has since gone viral, sparking widespread reactions online.

In the "About Me" section of his profile, the man introduced himself, saying, “Hello everybody, hoping to meet interesting women.” He continued by mentioning that he is currently an entrepreneur and had previously worked as an executioner in Saudi Arabia. "If that scares you then I apologise," he wrote, explaining that it was now more of a hobby, as he no longer carried out executions as frequently since leaving Saudi Arabia.

He went on to add, “Other than that I like watching movies, going out, listening to music etc,” and noted that he was over six feet tall. Describing himself further, he listed his roles as “executioner, entrepreneur, and business owner.”

The man's unusual disclosure quickly became a point of discussion online. Some users expressed discomfort, while others responded with humour. One individual reacted by saying, “The part that it’s a hobby makes it somehow worse.” Another joked about the profile, quipping, “Executioner (He/Him).”
