Google's announcement on its Doodle platform describes this creative piece: “Today’s Doodle, illustrated by Vrinda Zaveri, celebrates Independence Day in India! On this day in 1947, India gained its freedom from colonial rule.” The statement further elaborated on the Doodle’s theme, stating, “Homes, buildings, streets, and cars are decorated with the saffron, white, and green national flag — as seen in today’s artwork.”

Across the country, Independence Day is marked with various festivities, including flag-raising ceremonies, parades, musical performances, and community rallies.
