The wife of acclaimed cinematographer KK Senthil Kumar, Roohi, known to many as Ruheenaaz, died on Thursday at KIMS Hospital in Secunderabad. She succumbed to a series of health issues and multiple organ failure. Her last rites were held today at 9 am at Mahaprasthanam, Jubilee Hills.
The news of Roohi's death was confirmed through a press statement released by Kumar's team. The statement expressed, "Cinematographer Senthil's wife Roohi garu passed away (on Thursday) at 2 pm. Final rites (on Friday) at 9 am at Mahaprasthanam, Jubilee Hills."
Roohi, a yoga instructor to many celebrities, had been undergoing treatment in the past few days. Her death prompted an outpouring of condolences from her followers.
Fans took to social media platforms to share memories, with some posting nostalgic pictures of Roohi and Senthil alongside Prabhas and Anushka Shetty on the sets of the “Baahubali”. The couple's love story, initially sparked through a chance meeting facilitated by a common friend, had blossomed into a decade-long marriage that saw the birth of two sons.
Roohi was the head of Bharat Thakur's yoga classes for the Hyderabad division, and worked with numerous celebrities, including Anushka Shetty, Prabhas, and Ileana D'Cruz.
Senthil Kumar, who was SS Rajamouli's frequent collaborator, had recently taken a hiatus from his career to care for his wife. The couple got married in 2009 and have two sons.
Kumar has worked with Rajamouli on blockbuster hits like RRR, Baahubali: The Beginning, Baahubali: The Conclusion, Magadheera, Arundhati, Yamadonga, Chatrapathi, Eega, and Sye.
