Country's tea export saw a rise both in quantity and value terms during the first three months of 2016.
Export in quantity had increased 6.20 percent while in value terms the rise was 13.20 percent during the months of January, February and March of 2016, according to a data released by the Tea Board.
The increase in unit price realisation at an all-India level was 6.59 percent, the data said.
For north India, the rise in quantity and value terms during the period was 15.52 percent and 17.21 percent, respectively.
The increase in unit price realisation was only 1.46 percent for north India during the period.
In the context of south India, exports had declined in quantity terms by 4.88 percent, but there had been a gain of 5.55 percent in value terms.
Unit price realisation for south Indian tea had increased by 10.97 percent, according to the data.
CIS countries accounted for the maximum imports of Indian tea.
