Parliament to resume session; storm on Telangana likely

The MPs from Seemandhra are in Delhi to protest against the Bill which seeks to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh and create the separate state of Telangana. Hyderabad will be the joint capital for ten years of the two regions.

As Parliament reconvenes on Wednesday for the Winter Session, a stormy day is expected over Telangana. The Congress faces opposition not from the BJP alone, but from its own MPs as well.

"The Congress has struck a deal with Jagan Mohan Reddy and the TRS for political gains. We will not let this happen," Congress MP from Vijayawada Lagadapati Rajagopal said.

"Our agitation has led to a realisation that the Centre is mishandling the issue. We are appealing, begging to the President and to all parties not to pass this Bill," TDP MLA Payyavula Keshav said.
