Former Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao was undergoing treatment at a private super specialty hospital here after a fall on December 7 night and a fracture is suspected.
The BRS party chief is suspected to have fractured his hip at his Erravelli farm house.
Telangana BRS MLC and KCR's daughter K Kavitha confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter), saying that the former Telangana CM will be 'absolutely fine soon.'
"BRS supremo KCR Garu sustained a minor injury and is currently under expert care in the hospital. With the support and well-wishes pouring in, Dad will be absolutely fine soon," posted Kavitha.
Doctors are evaluating the condition of the BRS president, who is aged 69, and it might require a surgery, news agency PTI reported citing sources. A medical bulletin would be issued, they said.
KCR's condition is reportedly stable.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed concern on KCR's injury. Taking on X, he posted: |Distressed to know that former Telangana CM Shri KCR Garu has suffered an injury. I pray for his speedy recovery and good health."
The development comes on the heels of BRS's recent defeat in the Telangana legislative assembly election, where Congress' A Revanth Reddy secured a significant victory with 64 seats, leaving BRS with 39. Rao, who contested from two constituencies, won as an MLA from the Gajwel Assembly constituency but faced defeat in Kamarreddy.
Reddy took oath as Telangana CM on December 7 along with Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka as Deputy CM in Hyderabad. Even before the elections, K Chandrashekar Rao spent most of his time at his farm house, reports suggested.
