The Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR) has released data on the amount political parties received as funds during FY15, the election year. There has been a 151 percent jump, with donations hitting to hit over Rs 620 crore.Among these, the top fund contributors in order of quantum were Bharti Group, the Birlas and the Lodhas.With contributions of over Rs 430 crore, Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) led the charts and the Congress managed to garner over Rs 140 crore. Sharad Pawar's Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) stood third with funds of Rs 39 crore approximately.For the BJP, Bharti group lead the donation charts with Rs 107 crore. The General Electoral Trust of the Birlas was next with over Rs 63 crore and the Lodhas stood third with Rs 16 crore. For the Congress party, Birlas led the charts with donations of over Rs 54 crore; Bharti Group stood second with nearly Rs 19 crore and the Sudhakar Mallapa Shetty of the Zauba group donated Rs 10 crore.
