Amul honours late Verghese Kurien

Amul is celebrating national milk day in honor of the milkman of India - the late Verghese Kurien. Kurien, who would have turned 92 today, is famously known as the father of the white revolution in India. 

Amul, naturally, with all its quirky advertisements and promotions couldn't miss out on this opportunity to wish a happy birthday to Kurien in the best way possible.

RS Sodhi, MD of Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation says he wants to tell the nation that after Mahatma Gandhi, if anybody has contributed anything to millions of poor Indians, it is Dr Kurien. Every year, Indian farmers are earning Rs 4 lakh crore extra because of this man, he adds.
