All-round development of Assam a priority, says Gogoi

Assam has witnessed a major transformation in different sectors during the past 14 years due to the support of the people, said Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, who completes fourth year of his third consecutive term in the office tomorrow.

Guwahati: Assam has witnessed a major transformation in different sectors during the past 14 years due to the support of the people, said Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi, who completes fourth year of his third consecutive term in the office tomorrow.

The state has initiated a slew of development schemes for ensuring all-round development of the state and welfare of its citizens, he said.

The chief minister, in a statement released today, said his government took over the reins of power at a most crucial juncture and catapulted Assam towards the growth trajectory despite facing various problems and challenges.

"Top most priority has been accorded to infrastructure development, agriculture and allied sectors, education, strengthening surface communication, sports, culture, power, information technology, industries, trade and commerce," he said.
