BAPS Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi opens for public with guidelines: ‘Pets not allowed. Cover area of body...’

The BAPS Hindu temple in Abu Dhabi issued guidelines for visitors on their website, which included the type of clothing that is preferred, what is prohibited inside the temple and rules for photography.

The temple was built by the Bochasanwasi Shri Akshar Purushottam Swaminarayan Sanstha (BAPS) on a 27-acre site at a cost of approximately Rs 700 crore.

The BAPS Hindu Temple, that was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February, opened for the public on Friday.

The temple issued guidelines for visitors on their website, which included the type of clothing that is preferred and what is prohibited inside the temple.

"Cover the area of the body between the neck, the elbow, and the ankles. Caps, t-shirts, and other clothing articles with offensive designs are not allowed. Do not wear translucent or tight-fitting clothing. Avoid clothing articles and accessories that make distracting noises or reflections," the guidelines read.

Pets will not permitted inside the temple structure and additionally, outside food and drinks will also not be allowed within the temple premises.
