Ayodhya sets new Guinness World record by lighting 22.23 lakh diyas during 'Deepotsav'

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said bringing back Ayodhya's splendour is the main goal of holding Deepotsav and the coronation.

As part of the Diwali celebrations, approximately 22,23,000 Diyas (earthen lights) were illuminated in Ayodhya on November 11, setting a new global record for the Deepotsav holiday.

As many as 24 lakh 'diyas' (earthen lights) were ignited on Ram ki Pairi as part of the Deepotsav celebrations.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who attended the celebrations said, "When the programme for the Deepotsav began, it felt as if every person had only one wish and that was the construction of the temple (Ram Temple)..."
