Google mulls paid AI search features
Alphabet's Google is considering charging for premium features on its generative AI-powered search engine, the Financial Times reported. The tech giant is looking at a variety of options, including incorporating AI-powered search features to its premium subscription services, which already provide access to its new Gemini AI assistant in Gmail and Docs, the report said.
Tesla fights AI talent drain
Tesla CEO Elon Musk said that the company is raising compensation for its artificial intelligence (AI) engineers in response to intensifying competition for talent. Musk said in a post on X that Tesla is increasing pay for its AI engineering team, contingent on achieving progress milestones. He also noted that OpenAI has been actively recruiting Tesla engineers with lucrative compensation packages and have been successful in a few cases.
OpenAI upgrades DALL-E
OpenAI's DALL-E, the popular AI image generation tool, has received a significant upgrade. The first upgrade brings image editing tools directly to DALL-E within ChatGPT, accessible on both web and mobile platforms. The second addition is the introduction of preset style suggestions.
OnePlus joins the AI photo editing race
OnePlus is entering the world of AI-powered photo editing with its new AI Eraser tool. Similar to Google's Magic Eraser, this feature allows users to remove unwanted objects from their photos using artificial intelligence. The AI Eraser will be available on select OnePlus devices starting this month.

Meta hosted a forum on AI and claims that participants became more optimistic about its potential. The study, done with Stanford, involved discussions with experts and policy proposals for AI chatbots. Nearly half (49.8 percent) of American participants initially viewed AI positively. This number increased slightly (to 54.4 percent) after the forum.
