Karnataka likely to set up SPV for Knowledge, Healthcare, Innovation and Research city

KHIR-City to come up in 1,000 acres in the first phase, entire investment by private players with government contributing land equity

The Karnataka government on February 8 conducted a consultation meeting to discuss its proposal for a Knowledge, Healthcare, Innovation, and Research (KHIR) city.

Karnataka's major industry and infrastructure development minister MB Patil reviewed a presentation prepared by the Boston Consulting Group (BCG) on the design of the proposed KHIR-City. He also engaged in consultations regarding the project with officials and experts.

Karnataka plans KHIR City; aims to generate Rs 40,000 cr investment & create 80,000 jobs

This new investment region is expected to be developed within 60 km of Bengaluru in a phased manner. While the location has not yet been finalized, it is likely to be near the Kempegowda International Airport.
