Below is the verbatim transcript of Gurudas Dasgupta's interview with Rituparna Bhuyan on CNBC-TV18.
Ritu: About 10 different parties, 10 different points of view, will this sustain?
A: There will be minimum agreement on maximum number of points. There is a situation in India today which compels all the parties to come together in view of the danger posed by the bipartite political system.
Ritu: In the past also the left parties had tried a similar experiment. It did not work. What gives you confidence that this time it will work as an alternative?
A: History does not repeat itself. All that happened in the past are not likely to happen again in the present or in the future.
