Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh was granted bail by the Supreme Court in the Delhi excise policy case six months ahead of schedule.
On Wednesday, a Delhi court permitted him to campaign across the nation, but stipulated that he must provide investigators with his itinerary and maintain the location of his phone active.
As per the Supreme Court's bail requirement, Singh is not allowed to discuss his involvement in the excise policy issue.

In the beginning, Special Judge Kaveri Baweja of the Rouse Avenue Court stated that Singh could be subject to an order prohibiting him from leaving the Delhi-NCR.
The Lok Sabha election campaign was under way, and therefore Singh's attorney, Advocate Rajat Bharadwaj, informed the court that the MP would need to go to several locations to campaign. A request to impose the restriction that Singh would not be permitted to go out of the country was made after this.
Judge Baweja gave Singh permission and stipulated that he would need to provide the investigating officer with a thorough itinerary and maintain constant location tracking on his phone if he were to leave the NCR.
The apex court, while granting bail to Singh on Tuesday, delegated the task of determining his bail conditions to the trial court.
Bharadwaj, representing Singh, asserted to Judge Baweja that the MP posed no flight risk. He highlighted that aside from refraining from discussing his role in the case, the remaining bail conditions needed to be established by the trial court.
The conditions slapped by the court include:
1. Singh has to surrender his passport
2. He must refrain from tampering with evidence
3. He must Cooperate with the investigation
4. He must provide his phone number to the investigating officer.
The court also mandated adherence to the conditions set by the Supreme Court.
Singh's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate on October 4, 2023, in connection with the excise policy case, stemmed from allegations of Rs 2 crore illegal cash transactions at his Delhi residence. Following the ED's rejection to his bail, Singh was granted bail by the Supreme Court.
This decision came after the court reminded the Additional Solicitor General S V Raju that "the money has not been recovered" and urged him to consider whether Singh's continued detention was necessary "after six months."
