Incumbent Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and his Left Democratic Front (LDF) won the 2021 Kerala Assembly elections.
Pinarayi Vijayan, who had contested from the Dharmadam Assembly constituency in Kerala, managed to retain power in the state and led the LDF to scripting history by bucking the anti-incumbency trend in Kerala.
In the past four decades, power swung between the Congress-led United Democratic Front and the LDF in every term, with incumbents never making a comeback in Kerala. However, after breaking that 40-year jinx, ‘Captain’ Vijayan and his party are all set to serve the people of Kerala for another five years.
