The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on May 17, arrested three Trinamool Congress (TMC) leaders, including two recently-inducted ministers in the Mamata Banerjee government, a legislator and a former TMC leader, in connection with the 2016 Narada sting operation case.

All four leaders were ministers in the-then Mamata Banerjee government when the Narada tapes were shot in 2014. Last week, Hakim and Mukherjee were sworn in as members of the new Mamata Banerjee cabinet after she won a third straight term.

Chatterjee, who quit the TMC to join the BJP in the run-up to the recently concluded West Bengal Assembly polls, parted ways with the BJP after the declaration of the candidates' list.
