Upping the ante against the BJP-led Centre, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on March 29 alleged that the raids by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have brought all corrupt politicians into one party.
Kejriwal who was speaking on the confidence motion in the Delhi Assembly said the country will become corruption-free once the BJP rule ends.
“The Prime Minister has been giving statements everywhere that the ED and CBI have brought corrupt leaders on one platform. His statement is true, but needs a minor correction. All corrupt leaders have gathered in a particular party,” said Kejriwal.
All corrupt leaders have joined the BJP. Even during raids by ED and CBI officials, people are asked to join the BJP or go to jail, alleged Kejriwal.
“Manish (Sisodia) was also asked on gunpoint but agreed to go to jail. We will prefer to die rather than join the BJP. Satyendra Jain too was asked to join the BJP and he too refused,” said Kejriwal.
He further claimed that leaders like Suvendu Adhikari and Mukul Roy joined the BJP because they were aware of their corrupt practices.
“Our leaders are not worried; they know the truth will prevail. Corrupt leaders get worried and join the BJP. All dacoits, thieves and corrupt are in one party. Once BJP people are in jail after their government's rule ends, the country will become corruption-free,” he added.
The AAP convenor also claimed that his MLAs were threatened with raids and offered Rs 25 crore bribe, but nothing could break them.
“PM Narendra Modi was given a huge mandate by the public, and he could have made this country better. Unfortunately, he changed the political discourse of the nation following which people are scared. People are preferring moving out of this country,” Kejriwal said.
