BJP Vice President Mukul Roy, son Subhranshu join TMC in presence of West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata

The move comes at a time when several turncoat politicians, who switched from the TMC to BJP ahead of West Bengal Assembly polls, have expressed regret over their decision to quit the Mamata Banerjee-led party.

National Vice President of the Bharatiya Janata Party National (BJP) Mukul Roy and his son Subhranshu returned to the Trinamool Congress (TMC) fold in West Bengal on June 11.

The father-son duo met the TMC chief and West Bengal Chief Minister at 3 pm at TMC Headquarters in Kolkata. After the meeting, CM Mamata Banerjee, Roy, Subhranshu and Abhishek Banerjee, CM's nephew, shared stage and addressed media to announce the formal joining.

"I have joined TMC today. In the present circumstances, no one will stay in Bharatiya Janata Party," Roy said after the joining.

CM Mamata Banerjee welcomed Roy and said that he will play an important role in the party.
