As the 2025 Delhi Assembly Elections concluded on Wednesday, the national capital recorded a turnout of 57.70% till 5 pm. The North-East district in Delhi, which recorded highest voter turnout till 5 pm, has five assembly constituencies – Ghonda, Gokalpur, Karawal Nagar, Mustafabad and Seelampur.
In the 2020 assembly polls, Delhi had recorded a total voter turnout of 62.59 per cent while only 56 per cent of voters participated in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. Meanwhile, in 2015, the total voter turnout was 67.1%.
There are around 1.56 crore eligible voters in Delhi.

Voting percentages were much lower at 57.5% per cent in 2008, 53.42%in 2003 and just 49 per cent in 1998, as per EC records.
Records further show that Delhi recorded a voting percentage of 61.75 % in 1993, 55.29% in 1983, 55.85% in 1977 and 58.52 %in 1951.
President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Chief Justice of India Sanjiv Khanna, Union ministers S Jaishankar and Hardeep Singh Puri, Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal were among the early voters.
The main contest is between the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), and the Congress. The party securing most seats will form the next government in Delhi. The Election Commission will officially announce the results on Saturday, February 8.
The Arvind Kejriwal-led Aam Aadmi Party first came to power in 2013 with the outside support of the Congress.
In 2015, as Congress withdrew its support and elections took place again. The AAP swept the polls winning 67 seats. In 2020, the AAP won 62 seats.
