Former Agniveers will receive 10 percent horizontal reservation for direct recruitment in government services after their return from the army, as per a proposal approved by the Uttarakhand Cabinet on Wednesday .
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami chaired the meeting where the state Cabinet gave its approval to reservation for former Agniveers.
As per the Cabinet's order, the reservation for former Agniveers pertains to uniformed posts of Group ’C’ in services under the state government.
Former Agniveers will be exempted from the physical efficiency test in the direct recruitment, the source said.
Apart from this, they will also be given relaxation in the maximum age limit.
The Uttarakhand Chief Minister also shared the state government has provided government jobs to more than 24,000 youths. He wrote on X, "Our government, in line with its promises, has provided government jobs to more than 24,000 youths with full commitment. The implementation of strict anti-cheating laws has brought transparency to the recruitment process, as a result of which hardworking and deserving candidates have received their rightful due."
