Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that Chinese and the Pakistanis are fused, and cited instances revealing how Pakistan's armed forces were being guided by China against India. Calling out Pak-China nexus, the Congress party leader said India’s biggest foreign policy challenge is to keep Pakistan and China separate.
While speaking during the debate on Operation Sindoor in the ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament, Rahul claimed that while India thought it was fighting Pakistan, it was, actually fighting China. "A few days back I said this in the House and they laughed at me. I said that India’s biggest foreign policy challenge has been to keep Pakistan and China separated... But we failed, and they have destroyed the Indian foreign policy. The Indian government thought that they were fighting Pakistan, and when they arrived, they realised that they were fighting Pakistan and China," he said.
Citing an example of Pak-China synergy during Operation Sindoor, Rahul said, "On May 11, when DGMO level talks were going on, Pakistani actually was mentioning that 'we know your such and such important vector is primed and ready for action, I would request you to perhaps pull it back'...so it is very clear, they were getting live battlefield inputs from China. If you would've listened to me here, you wouldn't have lost those five planes."
“China was feeding critical information to Pakistan and, if you don’t believe me, General Rahul Singh during the FICCI event said Pakistan was getting live battlefield inputs from China,” he added.
He said this “integration” between China and Pakistan took place with a centre built in Pakistan with Chinese help. Gandhi said, "There is a Centre for AI and Computing — that was built in Pakistan with Chinese help. And it's aim is to integrate the Pakistani air force with the Chinese air force and transform the Pakistani air force into a network-centric air force."
Rahul said that Pak officers have been training with the Chinese People Liberation Army (PLA) since last four years, and this was in full view during Operation Sindoor. He said, "Since 2021, Pakistan's strategic officers have been embedded into PLA's northern and western theatre commands. They are sitting there, coordinating, so it is important to understand that you did not have the political will. That you did not give freedom to maneuver, but there is another problem. And the problem is that we are now facing, not just China, not just Pakistan, but China and Pakistan, fused as one, militarily."
He also talked abut how the Chinese armed forces were feeding live information of the battlefield to Pak during Operation Sindoor. "The Pakistani Army and the Pakistani Air Force was attached to the Chinese Air Force. The Pakistani Army and Air Force were aligned with China. Not only that, but the doctrine of the Pakistani Air Force was completely changed, the information available to the Pakistani Air Force was completely changed, and the Chinese were feeding critical battlefield information, satellite information, targeting information, to the Pakistanis," he informed.
He hit back at External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar's accusations of the Congress leader relying on the Chinese ambassador’s “briefing” on the 2017 Doklam military standoff between India and China, and called out the external affairs minister's ideas of "two-front war concept"
"I don't know what he (Shivshankar) is talking about. The two-front war concept is gone, it doesn't exist any more, there is now a unified front concept....he is talking about two-front, that ship has sailed long ago," he said.
“Listen to what Jaishankar said which shows the mindset of these people; this explains why in his entire discussion yesterday, the defence minister did not say the word China. We are now facing…Chinese and Pakistani fusion. It is a very dangerous time and we cannot afford a PM who does not have the courage to use the army as he should or does not have the guts to call out Trump as a liar,” he added.
