In an exclusive interview with Network18 Group Editor-in-Chief Rahul Joshi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday said that the "Prashant Kishor" factor that has been coming up in the Bihar elections is "insignificant".

He said that the public knows that he would not be able to win even one seat in the state elections. "This factor is insignificant and it is not worth it to ponder upon this," he said, adding, "Using their right to vote over so many years, people have developed a political insight themselves. They know who is capable of forming a government."

Singh also spoke about Swadeshi push in the defence system. "We have started work on swadeshi drones. We don’t wish to depend on other nations for weapons, and the progress in this area is good,” Singh said, highlighting the government’s focus on strengthening domestic manufacturing and innovation in defence technology.

The Defence Minister also said that the delivery of MQ-9 drones from America is expected to take place within the scheduled timeline. “We want that defence systems be made on Indian soil, by Indians,” he said, asserting that India has made “massive progress” in the defence sector under the government’s indigenisation drive.
