Addressing the joint session of Parliament ahead of the presentation of the interim Budget, President Droupadi Murmu recounted the big decisions of the Narendra Modi government- including the India's moon landing and performance in the Asian Games. She also mentioned the inauguration of the Ram Temple.
She added that in the last 10 years the country has seen the completion of many tasks that the country’s people had been waiting for.

- The President recounted government's four pillars of development. These pillars are – youth power, women power, farmers and poor.
- She said that the government has been successful in keeping the inflation under check. Earlier, the inflation rate was at 8%, now in last ten years, it has come down to 5.10%.

- The President also hailed the Digital India initiative brought in by the Modi government.
- Speaking about the new Parliament building, she said the edifice radiates the essence of 'Shreshta Bharat' and showcases the grandeur of India's culture and civilisation.
- She also lauded the members of the Parliament for the passage of the women's reservation bill.
- The successful G20 Summit hosted by India strengthened the role of India in the world. India won more than 100 medals in Asian Games," reiterated the President.
- The construction of the Ram Temple (in Ayodhya) has been a dream since centuries. It is a reality now," said President Droupadi Murmu.
- Speaking on Made in India, defence sector got a big boost from the Make-India initiative.
On February 1, finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the interim budget. The Budget session, consisting of eight sittings is spread over ten days. It is also the last one before the Lok Sabha polls in April-May this year.
