DMK MP Kanimozhi, who is leading an all-party delegation from India as part of the global outreach programme post Operation Sindoor, said that the national language of India is 'unity and diversity'.
"The national language of India is unity and diversity. That is the message this delegation brings to the world, and that is the most important thing today," she said addressing the Indian diaspora in Spain.
The question came amid DMK's face-off with the Centre on the three-language formula issue in the National Education Policy 2020. A strong proponent of the two-language system (Tamil & English), the party views the policy as an affront to federalism and regional autonomy.
Kanimozhi and other parliamentarians, part of the Group 6 delegation, conveyed a unified and strong stance on India-Pakistan relations and the global fight against terrorism. "India has declared that it shall not distinguish between terror and states which sponsor terror. We come together as citizens of India in one voice, bringing the message of our government saying that India is not seeking revenge. India wants accountability, we want justice," she said,
India cannot be blackmailed or silence and we want the world to understand that, the DMK MP asserted.
"Terrorism has no boundaries, it has no ideology, it has no faith ... If this world has to be a safer place, we have to stop these terrorists and terror activities. Any country which allows space to these terrorists, sponsors terror activities has to be held accountable," Kanimozhi added.
Besides Kanimozhi, the group includes Rajeev Kumar Rai of SP, Brijesh Chowta of BJP, Prem Chand Gupta of RJD, Ashok Mittal of AAP and Manjeev Singh Puri, Former Ambassador of India to EU and Nepal.
The delegation also met The Association of Victims of Terrorism in Madrid. The association, one of the largest such associations globally, works with over 4,000 victims of terrorism and provides psychosocial support to those affected. The meeting between the association and the all-party delegation aimed to exchange experiences and best practices in supporting victims of terrorism.
According to the Indian Embassy in Spain, the delegation engaged in a heartfelt exchange on the pain and resilience that emerge from such traumatic events, with the delegation highlighting India's own experiences in confronting cross-border terrorism.
