Nabha jailbreak mastermind Ramanjit Singh extradited to India from Hong Kong

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in coordination with Punjab Police and INTERPOL’s National Central Bureau (NCB) in Hong Kong, successfully brought back Red Notice fugitive Ramanjit Singh to India on August 22. Singh is wanted by Punjab Police in connection with his involvement in the 2016 Nabha jailbreak, which led to the escape of several terrorists.

Ramanjit Singh had been geolocated in Hong Kong in 2018 through INTERPOL channels. Upon confirmation of his location, the Punjab Police, through INTERPOL, issued a provisional arrest request in the same year. Following this, an official extradition request was forwarded by the Punjab Police. After a prolonged legal process, Singh was finally extradited back to India.
