Karnataka: Toll on Bengaluru airport road, other stretches to go up from April 1

The rate is being hiked from April 1 for most toll plazas across the country based on the annual wholesale price index, NHAI officials have said

Toll rates at major plazas across Karnataka will rise by up to 5 percent from April 1, with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) revising the rate across the country.

The hike, based on the annual wholesale price index, will also impact motorists travelling to the Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and Bengaluru's Satellite Town Ring Road (STRR).

Starting April 1, NHAI will raise user fees at the Sadahalli (Devanahalli toll plaza on NH 7, which serves KIA, and Hulikunte and Nalluru Devanahalli plazas on NH 648, part of the STRR.

The revised rates will be applicable at most toll plazas in the state, depending on the concessionaire agreement, KB Jayakumar, project director, NHAI, Bengaluru, said . The hike would range between three to five percent, he said.
